Querio

Using LLMs to simplify data analytics

Product

It has been almost two decades since British mathematician Clive Humby declared that ‘data is the new oil’. So what’s happened since?

Software giants have been built to facilitate everything from data warehouses to pipelines and analytics. Palantir generated roughly $2bn annual revenue this year and still only comprises less than 2% of the big data and analytics market. In short, the opportunity remains huge and the market is growing - 90% of all data was generated in the last two years.

It is surprising to then hear of a product manager waiting upwards of a month for a software developer to query their database. Multiple points of friction persist: collating data from different input sources, contextualised data cleaning and intuitive querying.

Querio leverages LLMs to provide the most user-friendly data analysis platform.

Input - Integrate with the widest range of input sources, e.g. CRMs / technical databases

Cleaning - Leverage a proprietary fine-tuned LLM to provide accurate and contextualised data cleaning

Querying - Communicate with your data using natural language on a chat interface, providing accessibility for all

Spotlight Analysis

Strengths

  • Propriety model: establishes long-term moat by fine-tuning their local model which improves as Querio grows

  • Novel product design: the natural language chat interface provides an accessible means to communicate with the data

  • Strong domain expertise: the founding team has deep industry experience (ex-Amazon tech PM, CTO with 17 years of experience working with technical products)

Weaknesses

  • Data privacy: companies are wary of sharing customer data so require robust controls

  • Ease of data migration: Querio needs to build seamless and intuitive integrations with the source of the data, e.g. Hubspot, Airtable

Deekard (S22) - Raised $500,000 from YC in September 2022

Why Querio?

With a focus on the SME market, Querio is looking to tackle a largely underserved demographic and its own fine-tuned LLM should provide a substantial long-term moat.
